Yuzuki Yukari WIP

Yuzuki Yukari, the cutie bunny vocaloid
(\__/)
(•ㅅ•)
I fell in love with Yuzuki's design when I first saw her and ever since I have wanted to cosplay her. I also really like her voice

I had bought fabric for her lavender-colored dress long before I actually started making her costume. I found really cheap fabric which was right color for her and I immediately bought it XD! So far this has been the cheapest cosplay I have ever made, but I still have to buy a wig and shoes and buy materials for her hoodie and over-the-knee socks and loudspeakers... so I still have to spend more money on her ╮(╯▽╰)╭

The patterns for this dress were really easy to make. ( I think i'll post a tutorial in case someone else is planning to do yuzuki  (*^▽^*) ) After I had cut all of the pieces they looked like that:

And those same pieces when I had sewn them together (and iron them !)
So it started to look like a dress \(@ ̄∇ ̄@)/ After the "base" was done I added the ruffles on the top and also the see-through fabric to the bottom of the dress. Before adding the see-through fabric I had already sewn hem to the bottom of the dress. Usually the hem is almost the last things u make, but I already knew it was the right length so I thought it would be easier to do now

Ruffles yaaii
How the dress looked with ruffles
Which one to choose?
Apparently I ended up with the upper one
(I thought it looked more like  in the picture)
When all these were done the only thing left was to sew the zipper and those darker lilac and black ribbons. and of course making and adding bows.

Ignore my weird looking legs X'DD

hurrrrr

(almost) finished dress  O(≧▽≦)O
I still need to put couple eyelets and some pearls at the bottom of the dress. but otherwise the dresspart is done and I can move on to the hoodie :3 (i wish I could have posted a picture of me wearing the finished dress, but I was too lazy to set timer and find decent place for the camera, lazy me ( ̄~ ̄;) )

  2. Thank you for this tutorial Miia! It's extremely helpful for a beginner sewer like myself. I was wondering in what order you sewed the pieces of fabric. I've been staring at the pictures for a while now trying to figure that out, but to no avail. Please let me know if you remember!
