♥ Saturday ♥

The convention started at friday, but I have nothing to write about that day, so I'll just move straight to saturday that was quite exciting day (´ ▽｀).。ｏ♡

As you can see, I wore Sheryls costume that day and I ended up placing second in the hall cosplay competition. To be honest, I have been hoping to get picked in the hall cosplay competition for a long time, but I never thought it would happen since there are so many good cosplayers. But anyways I was happy to get picked in the competition. I have been wanting to participate in some sort of cosplay competition for a while now, but I am a bit shy so I've never done it. And on top of that I have no stage experience. So when I got picked, I was very nervous to walk on the stage... and even more frightened about the thought I might have to speak in front of the audience.

Luckily for me, everything went well and I did enjoy it a little. It could have been a lot better, but considering my legs were literally shaking before going to the stage, I think I did the best I could. I wish I had Sheryl's stage presence and her fearless attitude (╯ಊ╰)

Second place was a real surprise for me. In the backstage I was looking at all the costumes other people had and I didn't think I'd stand a change against them. But second place (//∇//) ♡♡♡♡ so happyy♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ I got a medal and a gift card as a prize. I'm planning to use the gift card to make my ultimate dream cosplay happen: Kuroyukihime in accel assault version from anime accel world (actually from Accel world OVA).

♥ Sunday ♥

Sunday just flew by. I was wearing Luka in her anti the infinite holic-costume and the day was windy. I mean, It was impossible to walk outside with head dress and fluffy dress and a wig. And besides that there was cold so I stayed inside. (And because of that I don't have any new photos of that outfit). I didn't really do much besides watching amv competition. I was just hanging with my friends and waiting for something to happen. But overall it was a nice day and the convention was also nice :3

♥♥♥Sheryl Nome WIP♥♥♥

Sheryl is about to be ready! So excited!! ヽ( ★ω★)ノ I've been wanting to make this cosplay forever and I can't believe it's almost done. I only need to finish the shoes and sew the bow together and attach it somehow to the costume.

 I used some violet polyester fabric and on top of it I wanted organza, since I liked how it adds a little shine. The  skirt is actually full circle skirt, but it's just folded in half in the picture. That weird looking triangle is for the huge back bows ribbons and the rest of the pieces are for the bow and waistband. 

I also added three layers of tulle under the skirt to give it some extra poof

The finished skirt came out so good!! I love how fluffy it looks, thanks to the tulle and horsehair braid I added. There's actually no zipper in the skirt and therefore no seams on the sides. I made the center circle wide enough for me to fit the skirt on me and then gathered the extra fabric with elastic band, so it stays on. 

Here's a picture of the back bow when the ribbons are folded correctly. In the picture I haven't yet stitched them.

And the bow is actually 75 cm wide!!

After I had made the skirt I added details to the corset and made choker and armband and gloves and stockings.

The easiest way to make a gloves: draw your had on a paper, cut it, place it on the stretchy fabric, sew following the lines, cut the excess fabric and done!

I would have made the shoes already, but I didn't have any superglue left so I couldn't finish the edges｡･ﾟﾟ･(>д<)･ﾟﾟ･｡

Finally some pictures of the entire costume when It's laying on the floor and how it fits me♥♥♥♥♥

The quality is bad- iknow..And the lacing is off, I just wanted to see how everything looked on me 

Next time I'll probably post some convention pictures since it's only week till the con (ﾉ´ヮ´)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ Can't wait~

Miyuki & Sheryl WIP!♥

I'm just gonna post some picture's of  progress of both costumes. It's mainly all the little things pins etc. and not exactly the costumes and sewing since I don't have the fabrics yet (;*△*;) But let's start!(★^O^★)

★Sheryl★:

I found these heels from thrift shop and altered them a lot to match the sheryls shoes

First I got rid of the zipper (and put duct tape to hide the gap)

Then added some cardboard and expanding foam. when dry I cut it and added paper mache~

Then sanded it and glued cork to the bottom of the shoes (not shown in picture)

Shoes are still in progress, but I have already made patterns for the upper parts of the shoes so I don't think It'll take too long to finish those.

The CAD is made to phone case which fits for my phone ★I like the design of Miyukis CAD and I don't want to be carrying useless block with me so I thought it was the best option to make it like that ★★

I'm in love with my new eyes ♡(ŐωŐ人)

I wanted to see how circle lenses looked in my eyes and would they really make eyes that much bigger, so  I ordered contacts from honeycolor. Of course I had Sheryl and Miyuki in mind and they both happens to have blue eyes - so I ordered Super Pinky blue contacts with diameter of 14.8 mm.

They arrived in couple weeks after the order and came with cute hippo case. It was  hard to open the containers where the lenses were. But I guess that just tells how good they were packaged.

I really like the design and the color! It's so bright but not too obvious. Though everybody noticed I had lenses on when I did do a little test run to see if my friends would notice.  My eyes are blue so only the size of my iris was different when I wore circle lenses  And also my eyes were more blue since my actual eye color is a little grayish blue.

The only thing that bothers me with these gorgeous lenses is that they're a bit itchy. I guess you can see that my eyes are a little red in the comparison picture. And that's because of the itchiness.  I am wearing contacts on a daily basis and my eyes aren't sensitive at all so I was surprised my eyes reacted like that to the circle lenses.☆⌒(＞。≪)

How they looked on me 

Anyways I'm in love with my Super Pinky Blue circle lenses and probably going to buy more circle lenses. I want pair of violet, green, honey and red circle lenses (♥ω♥ ) ~♪

Wig review - Miyuki and Sheryl ♥♥

I ordered wigs for Sheryl and Miyuki and now they have finally arrived!

Delivery time for the both of the wigs was quick - it took only couple weeks for both to arrive.

Since I had bad luck with my recent purchases, I was very anxious to open the packages. ｡:ﾟ*+;(●´･д･`●);+*ﾟ:｡ One of the packages looked very thin (the black one), so I thought the wig too would be thin. Luckily that wasn't the case.

First I opened the black thin package. The wig was packed in plastic bag and it had hair net. It could have been better packaged, but the wig arrived unharmed so I have no complaints. The wig itself looked a bit thin when I first looked at it, and needless to say I was a bit frightened. But  when I put it on, I noticed there actually is enough fiber to cover your wig cap/hair/whatever you wear under the wig. I was so relieved!

On top of that the color was perfect! (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) It was exactly what I was hoping for and matched the sellers picture.  The fiber in the wig is so smooth, a bit too shiny in my opinion, but I can use powder to tone it down a bit. Overall the quality of the fiber is good and it looks quite natural (except it shines).

Wig for Sheryl

I was a little disappointed with the Sheryls wig. It was very well packaged. It was inside a plastic bag and it had also hairnet around it. The package had some bubble wrap also, so I'm very pleased with that. Also the quality of the wig is excellent.  The wig has tons of fiber and it's so thick. My first words when I opened the package were: "It's so fluffyyy!"  ʕ灬￫ᴥ￩灬ʔ The fiber doesn't even shine as much as the Miyuki's wig. And you get a free wig cap with purchase.

BUT, the color is off. It's way too pink in natural lightning than in the sellers picture (as seen below) ヽ༼ ಠ益ಠ ༽ﾉ For some reason It looks quite like it in pictures that are taken indoor (like the first pic)... But it's more pink when seen live ö___ö

So, I'm probably going to purchase a blonde wig for Sheryl and combine it with the pink one that I now have. Her hair is going to look so fluffy when I do it ʕ•̀ω•́ʔ✧

Sheryl, start! ♥♥♥♥♥

I was looking through my fabrics and figured out that I had all the materials to make a corset for Sheryl. And not just any corset, but the one specific corset of hers I love. The corset for lion ♥(or the corset which Sheryl wears in the 2nd op) This is one of the cosplays I've been wanting to do for so long ♥♥♥ And now I have the perfect excuse to make it happen ♥♥♥

The Fabrics I found laying in my closet. In order from left to right, red fabric, red chiffon, the main fabric, white cotton to sew the rigilene boning in, lining and interfacing fabric to add support. The rigilene boning itself is also visible in the picture. Though I used also black rigilene boning when I run out of white since the main fabric is thick enough so It wouldn't be visible. The color of the main fabric is a slightly off, but I think it goes. I decided to add the red chiffon on top of red fabric so it would look more formal and fitting to the main fabric.
   

The Fabrics I found laying in my closet

I first started with the cotton layer which I had cut and sewn together to form a basic corset. Then I drew the shape I wanted sheryls corset to be on the cotton fabric. And based on that I created new patterns which I used to cut the lining and main fabric. That sounds quite complicated but basically what I did was I found the pattern for some basic corset, sew it together and then drew lines with pencil while wearing it and that's how I did the pattern seen below:

After patterns were done I Sewed some bones on the cotton layer and cut all the fabrics (ﾉ´ヮ´)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

Then I sew all the pieces together. To make the sewing easier I marked the waistline on each piece ♥

I ironed and cut the extra seam allowances and pinned the main fabric to the cotton layer. Then I sewed those fabrics together so that the red details (that I sew on later) would hide the seams. To get the main fabric match the cotton layer I used a lot of pins and time.

After that I cut pieces from red fabric and chiffon that were 4 cm wide. Then I ironed them and sewed them on the corset. Then I trimmed the excess chiffon. The first side of each red line was sewn by machine and the second side was sewn by hand. It was time consuming but I didn't want any stiching to be visible so it was worth it ❤(-_-)
